DC Launches “Be a Hero, Read a Book”The Next Great Storytellers / Posted on May 3, 2019
Every superhero has their own superpower: the ability to soar to new heights, run at lightning speeds or teleport to new worlds. Superheroes use their unique superpowers for good. In the same way, storytellers use the power of storytelling to change the world for the better.
To harness young readers’ superpowers, DC launched the new campaign “Be a Hero, Read a Book”. The campaign is aimed at helping children by providing librarians with DC Super Hero-themed materials, resources and activities. “Be a Hero, Read a Book” is also focused on DC’s two new original graphic novel publishing imprints, DC Ink for young adult readers and DC Zoom for middle grade readers.
As part of the program, DC will debut new, custom artwork every month that will be featured on various promotional materials such as posters, bookmarks and stickers, among other items, that librarians can display in their libraries and pass out to students and patrons. Each art piece will depict an iconic DC character reading a DC Zoom or DC Ink graphic novel.
